For many years, Stockholm has been a popular travel destination. Magnificent city with interesting districts and historic buildings offers its guests many exciting things, which are really worth seeing. In many parts of the city one can enjoy long walking trails that wind through the parks and are decorated with various gorgeous bushes and flowers. Here are a variety of cafes with an opportunity to sit and enjoy coffee both indoors and outdoors. City guests and tourists are offered a wide range of shops, ranging from top fashion stores to the local "second hand" shops. However, those who prefer shopping centers have the ability to shop both in a number of them in the center, as well as in suburban areas. Stockholm is a great opportunity to have a delicious meal in a variety of restaurants that meet every taste as well as enjoy the exciting nightlife, visiting one of the clubs that are open until 5:00 in the morning.
Cultural elements, such as well-known museums, art galleries and exhibitions, are a big part of the city's personality. Skansen (open air museum and zoo), the Vasa Museum, the group ABBA museum attract tourists like a magnet and the number of visitors rises sharply from year to year. Also, parts of the city such as Gamla Stan (Old Town), Djurgården and Waldemarsudde form a unique urban glamor.
Not only on earth Stockholm is rich in entertainment venues, but also under it, that is to say, the city's subway system, which is about 110 km long, has been hailed as "the world's longest art exhibition". More than 90 stops are decorated with paintings, sculptures and mosaics. Here it is possible to get a unique travel experience and become a particle of the unique history of art, enriched with various artistic elements, from the 50-ies until today.
However, the core of the city soul is located on the banks of water and it can without doubts be called the Venice of the North. Large open spaces, wonderful views and walking paths along the waterfront, give the city special atmosphere.
When it comes to hotels and how demanded they are the location is undeniably of big importance. The most famous hotels and strategically the most successful by their location is the Grand Hotel overlooking the Stockholm Castle, Sheraton and Hilton hotels, which bestow their guests Riddarfjärden fjord and Stadshuset (City House) landscape, as well as the hotel Diplomat with a view of Strandvägen (central street along waterfront). Since 2010 the number of the best hotels was supplemented by another hotel - Elite Hotel Marina Tower.
Inspiring.se visited the hotel in order to feel and enjoy the atmosphere of the old mill building- Saltsjöqvarn, built in 1890. It is known that a number of the Elite chain leading hotels have grown from old property with an interesting history. It is as a basic conditionnto the main hotel owner Bicky Chakraborty and trademark for all Elite Hotels. As hotels’ founder and managing person, he has always shown a great interest in preserving Swedish cultural heritage. In 2008 B. Chakraborty was awarded the Royal Medal (Royal Patriotic Sällskapets Näringslivsmedalj) for the investment in the development of Swedish business.
Hotel "Marina Tower" strategic location is selected at a high level. The hotel is a step away from the water. It offers a unique view over Stockholm as a live painting, which stretches from Gamla Stan (Old Town) in the west, Skeppsholmen, Waldemarsudde, until Skargarden (Swedish archipelago) in the east.
However, there is no significance to the fact that the hotel is not located in the city center, as the heart of the city can be reached in just 10 minutes by a passenger boat. In addition, there is no need to worry about where to park your car, because usually in Stockholm it is a big problem. If, however, you have a wish to move with your car, it normally does not take much time as well, but the traffic can change rapidly and the long car queues are inevitable in congestion hours.
Not to worry about cars lines and the air pollution, this hotel is an ideal choice. Here you can really smoothly enjoy the nice atmosphere away from all the worrying. Unique view over Stockholm, undisturbed nature around and water!
Upon entering the hotel lobby one cannot miss red stairs leading to the second floor, where the conference rooms are located. On the left of the main entrance there are the guest reception and lifts, but on the right- hotel bar and restaurant. "Marina Tower" cooperates with Sturebadet and easy access to the spa gives the hotel a continental breath. Movement of people, Spa visitors and hotel guests create vividness and vitality. The hotel offers 186 rooms and conference rooms with a capacity of up to 400 people. The hotel is designed by the NCC (Nordic Construction Company) project in collaboration with Ettelva Arkitekter.
Together with the hotel manager Louise Hasselquist, we selected some of the rooms, which we believe best reflect the "Marina Tower" and the tower suite that provides an unforgettable panorama of the city from the private roof terrace.
